In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul exhorts young Timothy to, "Preach the message, be ready whether it is convenient or not," (2 Timothy 4:2). Paul was referring to the message of Christ of course. Now, I'm in no way saying that photography has anything at all to do with the Gospel; it does not! But the irony here is that a few nights ago my wife was watching the old Left Behind movie series on the iPad while I was busy doing something else. Shortly thereafter we both decided to go to bed, so she paused the movie so that she could finish watching it upstairs. As she entered the bedroom, she sat the iPad on the edge of the bed. When I came in a few minutes later and spotted it, the above photograph is what I saw--what a serendipitious place to pause the movie!

Great photographs are fleeting moments, and we must always be ready... ‘To capture them whether it is convenient or not.’
