the snowbirds

Each winter they flock to South Florida by the thousands escaping the treacherous New England winters like the one being experienced right now. The official Wiki definition is as follows: "A snowbird is someone from the US Northeast, US Midwest, Pacific Northwest, or Canada who spends a large portion of winter in warmer locales such as California, Arizona, Florida, Texas, or elsewhere along the Sun Belt of the southern and southwest United States..." When they arrive the traffic greatly increases, but personally, I welcome them as they bring culture to a state that sometimes lacks it. Jupiter, for the most part though, is cultured. One thing seems apparent; these folks really know how to enjoy life!

The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off.
