Workshop Name

New York City Street Photography Workshop 2015

August 6-9, 2015

They say that if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere! New York City is probably the most sought after city for street photography in the USA. And arguably one of the best cities in the world for the art of street photography, offering literally unlimited opportunities for great photographs each and every day, all day and all night. Our workshops are heavy on the shooting, as well as personal one-on-one photo editing, and most participants literally spend more time behind the camera during the 3 1/2 day workshop than they have ever done before in such a short time. But because of the vastness of New York City, we will only be scratching the surface in such a short time. More to come so please check back soon!

What to Expect

People are infinitely fascinating to observe and to photograph, and no matter how many years you spend shooting on the streets, you will never repeat the same experience or take the same photograph twice. Each of my workshops is unique and location specific, and every workshop is lead by me personally. I will share my passion for street photography with you, and you will benefit from my decades of shooting experience during our time together.

During the workshop, we will spend the majority of our time shooting--isn’t this what we live for? There is no replacement for time shooting, and it is the fastest way to greatly improve your seeing, your technique and to overcome any apprehension you may have pointing the camera at total strangers. During our classroom time, I will share my proven street photography techniques, show you what to look for on the street, present ideas on where to practice street photography once you get back home and teach you how to feed your minds-eye while being inspired by great photography. The largest emphasis of our classroom time will be one-on-one editing with me. By looking at your work, I can quickly assess where you may need improvement, offer suggestions and steer you in the right direction to get the great photos you desire. The final day will be spent editing your entire body of work down to a concise portfolio of images that you can be proud to take home and share with family and friends.
